Botulinum
Wrinkles treatment with botulinum
Botulinum has proven its worth in the treatment of wrinkles caused by our facial expressions (mimic wrinkles). These include frown lines, forehead wrinkles and smile lines or "crow's feet" around the eyes. During treatment, the medication is injected specifically into the muscles to be treated using a very fine needle. As a result, the corresponding muscle relaxes and mimic wrinkles are alleviated and the skin smoothes out.
In the right dose, the treatment leads to a relaxed and fresh facial expression with significant wrinkle reduction, without looking unnatural or mask-like. The effect starts slowly after about 4 days, is fully developed after about 10-14 days and lasts for 3-4 months afterwards. With repeated use, the effect can sometimes even be significantly prolonged.
Our specialist for plastic, reconstructive and aesthetic surgery, Dr. Simona Lüdi, will be happy to advise you and carry out the treatments in the Beautylounge.
Treatment of Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis)
The botulinum injection is a treatment option for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) and is offered by Dr Simona Lüdi, MD, in the Beautylounge. The medication is injected into the corresponding skin area with very fine needles.
Botulinum reduces the release of sweat by taking effect directly on the sweat glands and specifically blocking the nerve impulses for sweat secretion. The effect sets in after about 4 days and is fully developed after 10-14 days at the latest. The duration of the effect varies from person to person but usually lasts for 4-6 months. After that, the original sweating resumes.
However, many patients experience a longer duration of effect, especially after multiple injections.
Treatment of Teeth Grinding (Bruxism)
Do you suffer from teeth grinding and are looking for a suitable treatment option? Teeth grinding, also known under the technical term "bruxism", occurs predominantly during sleep and causes the upper and lower jaw to rub strongly against each other. If left untreated, bruxism can have serious long-term consequences for teeth and jaws.
An effective method against nocturnal teeth grinding is the treatment with Botulinum and is offered by Dr. med. Simona Lüdi in the Beautylounge. Botulinum relaxes the muscles. In the treatment of teeth grinding, botulinum is injected into the masseter muscle at specific points on each side of the cheek, causing it to relax. As a result, the muscle does not go completely limp, but is only relaxed.
Eating and chewing are still possible normally, but teeth grinding and strong clenching of the teeth is stopped.
