Preparing the skin
Before the treatment, the skin is cleansed and the treatment area prepared. The hair should be shaved so that the energy can be directed straight into the hair root. We do not treat heavily tanned skin or skin with acute irritation.
The treatment
During laser hair removal, the energy is delivered to the skin in a controlled way through the handpiece. Modern diode laser technology with integrated cooling protects the skin surface while the hair root is treated in a targeted way. How long it takes depends on the area of the body.
Treatment intervals & sessions
As not all hairs are in the active growth phase at the same time, several sessions are needed. Usually 6–10 treatments are carried out at individually set intervals to achieve an even, lasting reduction in hair growth.

Compared with single treatments, a 6-session package gives you a significantly lower price per session. A package is always cheaper than six individual appointments and – depending on the area – lets you save up to around 20%. What is laser hair removal with a diode laser?
For at least six weeks before the treatment, hair must not be plucked, waxed or epilated. Shaving is allowed and recommended. In addition, you should avoid intense sun exposure and sunbeds 2–4 weeks before the treatment.
What exactly is the V-NISSG?
The V-NISSG (the Swiss ordinance on protection against hazards from non-ionising radiation and sound) is a legal regulation, valid throughout Switzerland, for the safe use of laser, IPL and other energy-based devices in aesthetic cosmetics.
The V-NISSG is binding and is monitored by the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH). It ensures that treatments are carried out only by professionally trained staff and guarantees the highest safety and quality standards for clients.
How does laser hair removal work?
In laser hair removal, focused light energy is guided via the hair's natural pigment, melanin, down to the hair root. There, the energy is converted into heat, which heats the hair follicle in a controlled way and permanently damages it. The surrounding tissue is largely spared.
The growth phase of the hair is decisive for the success of the treatment. Only hairs in the so-called anagen phase have an active connection to the hair root and can be treated effectively. As not all hairs are in this phase at the same time, several sessions are needed to achieve an even and long-lasting hair reduction.
With modern diode laser technology, the energy can be tailored precisely and individually to your skin type, hair structure and treatment area, which makes laser hair removal an effective and safe method of permanent hair reduction.
How many treatments are needed for permanent hair removal?
Not all hairs are in the active growth phase at the same time. Only about 20 to a maximum of 70% of the hairs can be treated effectively per session. Hairs in the transitional or resting phase grow back later, which is why several sessions are necessary.
How long does a laser hair removal session take?
The length of the laser treatment depends on the size of the area being treated. Small zones take about 10–15 minutes, larger areas such as the legs or back up to 60 minutes.
Is the result the same for everyone?
No. The result is individual and depends heavily on hair structure, hair colour, skin type and hormonal influences. Dark, strong hair responds particularly well to the treatment. Very fine, light or grey hair responds much less well, or not at all.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
Laser hair removal delivers a long-term and, in many cases, permanent reduction in hair growth. Treated hair follicles are specifically damaged, so that little or no hair grows back in these areas, and any that does is noticeably finer.
As hormonal changes or individual factors can influence hair growth, a few top-up treatments after some years can make sense in some cases. Overall, laser hair removal is regarded as one of the most effective methods of permanent hair reduction.
When does the hair fall out after laser treatment?
The treated hairs do not fall out immediately. As a rule, they come away from the skin on their own after about two to three weeks. The timing can vary depending on your skin and hair type.
What happens after laser hair removal?
After the laser treatment, the skin may show redness, a feeling of warmth or tightness. These reactions are normal and usually fade within a few hours, or after one to two days at the latest.
What should be avoided after a laser session?
After laser hair removal, you should avoid saunas, steam baths, very hot showers and intense heat for a few days. In addition, high sun protection (SPF 30–50) is necessary.
Does laser hair removal hurt?
Most people find modern diode laser hair removal easy to tolerate. During the treatment you may feel a brief warmth or a slight prickle, comparable to a flick on the skin.
Thanks to built-in cooling systems, the skin surface is protected during the treatment, which noticeably reduces the sensation of heat. Sensitivity and pain perception can vary depending on the area of the body and the individual.
