What is O.P.I?
O.P.I (often written OPI) was born in California in 1981, when George Schaeffer took over the company Odontorium Products Inc. Together with co-founder Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, he launched the first nail polishes in 1989. The brand is based in Calabasas, and since 2020 O.P.I has been part of the Wella Company.
O.P.I is known for tongue-in-cheek colour names such as I'm Not Really a Waitress, which has won several awards as best nail polish, and for a huge palette of shades and finishes.
The range extends from classic Nail Lacquer, which according to the manufacturer lasts up to 7 days, through Infinite Shine with up to 11 days without a lamp, to GelColor, the professional gel polish for the LED lamp.
As early as 2007, O.P.I removed DBP, formaldehyde and toluene from its Nail Lacquers. According to the manufacturer, Infinite Shine is formulated to be vegan, with no animal-derived ingredients. The Nature Strong line is up to 75 per cent of natural origin, certified by the Vegan Society and 9-free.
For care, there are nail oils, hand creams and nail hardeners, so that your colour sits on a healthy base.

OPI Infinite Shine: up to 11 days without a lamp
Infinite Shine is O.P.I's long-wear polish: according to the manufacturer, it offers up to 11 days of wear and a gel-like shine, but without a lamp and with normal removal. According to O.P.I, the formula is vegan. Ideal before holidays and special occasions.

We stock a selection of O.P.I colours, from nude to red, plus current collections. The selection can vary from studio to studio. Your nail artist will show you the current colours in the studio.
How long does OPI nail polish last?
According to the manufacturer, classic Nail Lacquer lasts up to 7 days and Infinite Shine up to 11 days, both without a lamp. How long it lasts depends on nail growth and wear. A top coat and nail oil will help you enjoy your colour for longer.
Is there OPI nail polish for brittle or soft nails?
As well as colour, O.P.I also offers nail hardeners, nail oils and hand creams. If your nails are brittle or soft, we will take a look at them during your Manicure and recommend suitable care for you to use at home.
What is the difference between OPI nail polish and Shellac?
O.P.I Nail Lacquer and Infinite Shine are classic polishes: they dry in the air, last up to 7 and 11 days respectively, and are removed with polish remover. Shellac is a gel polish that cures under an LED lamp, lasts 14 days or longer according to the manufacturer, and is removed by soaking.
