Nail art at Beautylounge: your nail design in Basel and the surrounding area

How we work: we paint the classic French line with a wider brush or a stencil. The fine line of a micro French takes a thin nail art brush and a steady hand.

We apply the tip directly onto the gel or polish and then seal the whole surface. That keeps the line sharp and the surface glossy.

French is the most versatile look in our nail art range. It works at the office, at a wedding and every day. If you're unsure, we'll advise you in the studio on line width and colour.

How we work: we combine a rosé or nude cover shade with a milky white gel and blend the transition softly.

Self-levelling gels make the gradient even, without harsh contrasts. Because there is no hard line, the look grows out discreetly.

Babyboomer is the right choice if you want well-groomed nails without any visible effort. The gradient looks soft and natural with every movement of your hand.

How we work: the chrome pigment is buffed onto a cured no-wipe top coat and then sealed.

The quality of the seal determines shine and durability. On a professional gel sculpt, chrome usually lasts three to four weeks, according to the manufacturer.

For the subtle glazed look, we apply light mother-of-pearl pigments to a milky base. The result shimmers softly instead of reflecting like a mirror.

How we work: we hold a magnet tool over the still-liquid gel without touching the surface. The particles align with the magnetic field. Only then do we cure the design under the lamp.

The effect can be set as a crisp line or softly spread as a velvet look. On dark base colours the line glows especially strongly.

Cat eye works on short and long nails. In the studio we'll show you the shades and you decide how strong the effect should be.

How we work: we apply one or two thin layers, depending on how opaque you'd like it. Then we seal it, with either a high-gloss or a milky finish.

With good preparation and care, the look lasts up to three weeks, according to the manufacturer.

Milky and clean nails are the right choice if you want your nails to look well-groomed without the design being obvious at first glance.

How we work: each stone is set into a dot of clear gel, pressed down and cured.

Then we encapsulate the edges and seal. Only fully embedded stones last the whole wear time; stones that are simply placed on top get lost.

Design and build-up

Now the look takes shape. We draw the French line, work the babyboomer gradient, buff in the chrome pigment, magnetise the cat eye gel or set the stones. Depending on the design, we work in several thin layers and cure in between.

Sealing and care

Finally, we seal the nails. For rhinestones and nail art, we also encapsulate the edges so that nothing catches. We'll give you tips for care at home and note when an infill makes sense.
