Permanent make-up for your brows
Full, expressive brows give your face contour and enhance your natural beauty. With permanent make-up for your brows (PMU Brows), you enjoy a lasting beautiful shape, the right colour and a well-groomed look – without having to fill them in every day. At the Beautylounge studios in Basel, Pratteln and Oberwil, we offer modern techniques that are tailored to you.
The benefits of PMU Brows
PMU Brows save you valuable time every day. No make-up, no smudging – your brows always look perfect. Whether natural hair strokes or powder brows with a soft shading effect: the result is tailored precisely to your face shape, skin type and style. This gives you a look that is harmonious and suits you.
Different PMU brow techniques
Powder technique – natural brows with soft shading
With powder brows, the brow is built up with fine shading. This technique creates a soft, powdery effect reminiscent of made-up brows. The intensity can range from very natural to bold, as you prefer. Powder brows are particularly suitable if you want an even, well-groomed look.
Hair-stroke technique – a natural hair look
The hair-stroke technique uses fine pigment strokes to imitate the natural hairs of the brows. This method is ideal if you want to fill in gaps or visually improve the shape of your brows. The result looks very realistic and blends perfectly with your natural brow structure.
The difference between PMU brows and Microblading
Unlike classic Microblading, where fine cuts are made in the skin with a blade, PMU works with an electric precision device. This means the pigments are placed into the skin more gently and evenly. The result usually lasts longer, healing is more straightforward and the colour looks more even.
How the treatment works
Before the treatment, we have a detailed consultation in which we define the shape, colour and technique together. The brows are then professionally pre-drawn before the pigmentation is carried out with state-of-the-art devices. Our specialists work precisely, hygienically and to the highest quality standards – for a result that will delight you every day.
How long it lasts and aftercare
Depending on your skin type and aftercare, PMU Brows last between one and three years. Regular touch-ups keep the colour looking beautiful for a long time. After the treatment, we give you detailed aftercare instructions so that your brows heal optimally and the pigments settle in as well as possible.

OUR PRICES FOR FACE TREATMENTS
Here are some questions and answers about PMU brows.
Which studios offer PMU?
We offer permanent make-up, or PMU for short, at our Basel 1, Oberwil and Pratteln studios.
Why isn't permanent make-up offered in all studios?
We have four PMU specialists: Laure and Sabrina in Basel 1, Anna in Oberwil and Gwendoline in Pratteln. Only PMU specialists are allowed to pigment at our studios, which is why permanent make-up is only available in these three studios.
How long does the PMU Brows treatment take?
1.5-2.5 hours, including consultation, outlining, colour selection, numbing and pigmenting.
How long do the results of a PMU Brows treatment last?
The result of a PMU Brows treatment lasts for around 12-24 months.
Can PMU be removed again?
Permanent make-up fades by itself over time, but PMU can also be removed using various techniques. Either you are happy with the shape and want to rework the colour (correction, neutralisation) or you want to make minor corrections and lighten it (saline removal). If you want to remove PMU completely, laser removal is particularly suitable.
What do the brows look like straight after the treatment?
At first, the brows look significantly darker (up to 40%) than the final result. During healing, the brows settle into the desired colour.
Are my natural brow hairs shaved off?
Your natural brow is not shaved off, just neatly tweezed into the desired shape.
Which brow shape suits me?
Your facial proportions are measured, and together with you we determine the style and shape of your brows.
Do I need a touch-up?
You should come back within four to eight weeks of your treatment. This way we make sure that shape and colour fit perfectly.
How do I prepare for a PMU treatment?
There are a few things to bear in mind: for 48 hours before the treatment, no alcohol and no blood-thinning medication such as aspirin or ibuprofen. One week beforehand, no aggressive treatments or peelings in the treatment area. Fresh sun exposure and solarium are off limits for two weeks before the treatment. Botox or filler treatments are only possible 2 to 4 weeks before or after a PMU treatment.
What does the PMU healing phase look like?
The healing phase of permanent make-up can be summarised in these steps:
Days 1–3: colour too dark / slight swelling.
Days 4–7: fine flaking – do not scratch!
Days 8–14: colour looks too light/ashy (pronounced “colour loss”).
From week 4–6: colour returns and clears. Fine-tuning at the touch-up (after 4–8 weeks).
What does aftercare look like following a PMU treatment?
To get the best possible result, please bear in mind a few things:
7–10 days: keep the area dry & clean, apply a thin layer of the recommended care product (if instructed), do not scratch or pick.
7–10 days: no sauna, swimming, steam bath, solarium, heavy sweating or make-up on the freshly treated PMU area.
14 days: strict sun protection (afterwards, SPF 50 permanently to protect the colour).
Change your pillowcase and keep your hands clean.
No acids or retinol on the area until it has healed completely.
