At Beautylounge, for our Gel Nails in Basel and the region, we work with OA Nail System, the professional system from France. OA Nails Basel means for you: Gel Polish, builder gels and Acrygel, all registered in the EU, which we use exclusively in TPO-free versions.
What is OA Nails?
OA Nail System is a French brand of professional nail products based in Forbach. According to the company, it was founded in 2013 by nail professionals with over 20 years of experience. It has its own distributor for Switzerland.
The range is designed for studio use: Gel Polish for colour, UV and LED gels for building, Acrygel and resin. According to the manufacturer, all products are registered on the EU cosmetics portal and comply with the European Cosmetics Regulation.
According to the manufacturer, OA's Gel Polish sits between classic nail polish and gel: it is applied like polish, cured under the lamp and offers hold and shine for several weeks.
For Gel Nails, you need builder gels that are stable yet flexible. OA offers various viscosities for this, as well as Acrygel, a blend of gel and acrylic that is easy to sculpt.
Important to us: Since the ban took effect in September 2025, we only use TPO-free products. TPO was a common photoinitiator in gels and is now banned in cosmetics in Switzerland and the EU.

What is OA Nails and where is it used in Basel?
OA Nail System is a French brand of professional nail products: Gel Polish, builder gels and Acrygel. At Beautylounge, we use OA for Gel Nails in all six studios in Basel and the surrounding region.
Are OA Nails products TPO-free?
At Beautylounge, we use only TPO-free OA products. TPO has been banned in cosmetics in Switzerland and the EU since 1 September 2025, and we have changed our stock accordingly.
Are OA Nails products vegan and cruelty-free?
We are currently clarifying this with the manufacturer and the Swiss distributor. As soon as we have written confirmation, we will add it here. Feel free to ask in the studio for the latest status.
Are OA Nails also suitable for sensitive nails?
Gel Nails give thin or brittle nails extra stability. What matters is clean application and regular infills. If you have a known allergy to acrylates, please talk to us before your treatment and we will work out together what suits you.
How long do OA Nails gel products last?
Gel Nails are usually infilled every three to four weeks because your natural nail keeps growing. As a colour, Gel Polish lasts several weeks. Exactly how long it lasts depends on your nail growth and how much wear they get.
